Accreditations

CHAS Accreditation Support

End-to-end help to achieve CHAS Standard, Advanced (PAS 91) or Elite (Common Assessment Standard) — without the admin headache.

Overview

What is CHAS?

CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is a recognised pre-qualification assessment. It helps contractors show clients they meet industry health & safety standards and — at higher levels — broader pre-qualification requirements.

Benefits

How CHAS will help your business

Meet buyer requirements

CHAS (SSIP) is requested by many main contractors and clients as a minimum for site access.

Win more work

Fewer PQQs and smoother onboarding—buyers recognise the assessment and tick you off faster.

Stronger H&S culture

Policies, RAMS and training records brought up to date, reducing risk and improving compliance.

How we work

How Tower Compliance can help

With 12 years’ experience securing accreditations for UK contractors, we manage everything: the paperwork, the portal and the back-and-forth with assessors. You get a clear checklist, a ready-to-use policy & RAMS pack, and a named consultant from enquiry to approval.

  • Gap analysis, evidence checklist and templates tailored to your trade risks
  • Policy, RAMS and training matrix prepared or refreshed for you
  • Full application completed and uploaded to the CHAS portal
  • Assessor queries handled to approval, then renewal reminders each year

  • Covers former PAS 91 PQQ areas
  • Builds on SSIP with extra evidence
  • Often requested by main contractors
Start Advanced
Elite (CAS)

Best for: High-value tenders and frameworks.

  • Meets SSIP + PAS 91 + Common Assessment Standard
  • Demonstrates broader risk management

FAQs

CHAS — common questions

Which CHAS level should I choose?
If your buyer only specifies SSIP, Standard is usually sufficient. For tenders that refer to PAS 91, choose Advanced. If buyers ask for the Common Assessment Standard or you want the most comprehensive coverage, go for Elite.
How long does it take to get accredited?
Our typical turnaround is 5–10 working days once evidence is gathered. We start prep immediately so nothing waits on you.
Can you help if we’ve failed an assessment?
Yes — we’ll review assessor feedback, plug evidence gaps (training/docs), and resubmit correctly with mapped references.
Do you provide the documents we need?
We supply an up-to-date policy & RAMS pack (editable), a training matrix, and evidence checklists tailored to your trade risks.
